GoBlueRidge.net - Two Publications Spotlight Local Men - Constantly Updated High Country NC News Source
Articles in two different publications highlight the life and times of native High Country residents Orville Hicks and Earl Townsend.
In the November issue of The Lutheran, the magazine of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Clarks Creek resident Earl Townsend is profiled by writer Edgar Trexler.
Trexler revists the Townsend family after his original article in 1969 about Earl's father Jason Townsend and Holy Communion Lutheran Church. The piece includes an interview with pastor Larry Campbell, who according to the article, has been pastor at the church for 45 years and is the only full-time pastor the congregation has had in its 166 years.
